This is the last "harmlessly bad" superhero film on the list.

When "Oh Shit!" Is a Good Thing

This afternoon I had one of those "oh, shit!" moments where I dropped what I was doing and went, "I NEED A KEYBOARD, NOW!" I love those.

Basically, two completely separate novel ideas that have been bouncing around in my head for months made passionate love, and now I have absolutely no idea how I ever considered them two separate ideas. ("Well, this is a great story concept, but needs more fleshed out characters!" / "Well, these are great character concepts, but they need an origin story and a main plot!" Oy. I'm so brilliant.)

Now the only trouble is whether a prose novel about superheroes can work as brilliantly as I need it to.

Anyone who's expressed interest in serving as alpha or beta readers: consider yourselves on notice. If my calculations are correct, when this baby hits 88 mph, you're going to see some serious shit.

Regarding My Least Favorite Superhero Films Series

A fair criticism of my weeks-long countdown of my favorite superhero films and my least favorite superhero films is that the "least favorite" entries have consistently been running much shorter than my "favorite" entries. I can promise you that that's about to change.

I basically have one entry left in my series of Least Favorite Superhero Films that's just "harmlessly" bad. (It's a bad film, but there isn't anything all that offensive about it.) If you really want to see me rip something to shreds, trust me: it's coming. My reviews of the last six films will be an unrelenting assault on films that have offended my sensibilities as a viewer to such a degree that I have a visceral need to tear them apart.

It's coming. I promise.

So, I'll be composing a full review at some point, but I finally saw The Devil Wears Prada. The reason I saw it was because when someone asks me, "Oh my gosh, you haven't seen [X]???" in the same tone of voice I would use if "[X]" were Star Wars, I generally make it a point to see that film at some point.

So, what this is is an open invitation for y'all to tell me if you have any "Oh my gosh, you haven't seen [X]???" films that you aren't completely sure I've seen. And don't assume I've seen it just because it seems like something I "definitely" would've seen. If you haven't seen or heard me expressly indicate that I've seen it, please assume that I might not have :).

Yes, it's "only" my 9th favorite superhero film of all time. No, I'm not currently under the influence of hallucinogenic drugs. Yes, I'm sure.
